Glimpses

Sri Lankan hospitality is unlike anything I have encountered before. I know that when I return to America I will be met with a rude awakening. In no other country I have heard of or visited, will a stranger invite you in to their home, bring you hot sugar-loaded tea, and show you all of their family photo albums.

I have been blessed to become close with several of my students and teachers from Sujatha Vidyalaya. Over the past few months, many have welcomed us into their homes, showed us their communities, introduced us to their families and life long friends, and given us a glimpse of their Sri Lanka. I will never forget it.
